Welcome back to 2012-2013

We are all excited for another great year in the Drama department.

First, let us welcome our student teacher in Drama Ms Adrian Murray

Ms Murray is a graduate of Clarke Atlanta University in theater and she is currently receiving her Master's Degree in Secondary Theater education from the University of Phoenix. She is incredibly hard working and motivated. She is excited to start her year with the wonderful students of the Brook. She will be working with Drama 1 and Drama 2.

Second, please be aware that auditions for Amadeus are next week. Please check Mr Adams' blog (the link is on my sidebar for details)

Last, several parents have asked what they can bring in terms of supplies. The number one thing the drama students go through is Kleenex. If you have a desire to donate to the extremely dwindling supply of drama Kleenex, we would be forever grateful.

1st Annual Pebblebrook Film Festival

Are you the next Spielberg or Spike Lee?

Need a creative outlet this summer?

Make a film this summer and enter it in the

First Annual Pebblebrook Film Festival.

All entries will receive feedback from the faculty panel of judges and the top entries will receive a public screening and awards ceremony when school starts in August.

All entries need to be 15 minutes or shorter and appropriate for school.

How Do I enter?

2 ways to submit

1. e-mail a copy of the film to: katherine.grant-shalin@cobbk12.org

2. Mail a copy of the film on a flash drive or DVD to Ms Grant at the school address. 

Deadline for Entry: All entries must be postmarked by midnight July 25, 2012

Alright everyone...the long awaited juries are here. We hope very much that we will see excellent juries this year. Be prepared, be relaxed and bring your best work. Double check the audition guidelines worksheet to make sure that you have all of the details complete.

Here are some very clear pointers for your Jury;

Jury Guidelines

If you have not started working on your jury, you need to get moving. Juries will be here before you know it. Once we get back from Spring break you will be amazed how quickly the rest of the year will fly by.

Please take a few minutes to review the handout from the above link. You need to have a very clear understanding of what is and what is not expected of you and your preparation. Above all else, give your self adequate preparation time. You want to make sure that you are doing your absolute best work and that you are not undermining yourself with lack of prep.

First of all, you should all plan to see Hairspray at the Civic Center this coming weekend. It was fabulous. Congrats congrats to all the cast and crew. You make CCCEPA so so proud.

Drama 1:
You will continue to film your scenes and we will see your finished product towards the end of the week.

Drama 2:
You will be showing all the pieces of your scene with a blocking check starting mid-Monday and a line check on the 2nd half on Tuesday.

Drama 4:
It is bye bye for us. Monday you will present your work and then I will see you on Weds only for the remainder of the year.
