Week of 21-25

Ragtime opens this Friday at the Strand theater. It is a beautiful musical. You should definately plan to come.

We will continue with the pre-juries this week in fifth period.

Drama Two:
We will have an odd week as half of our students will be absent for testing. We are going to make it an enrichment week rather than forward our monologue unit and leave them behind. I plan to work on the Feldenkreis movement method with you. This is a technique that is designed to free the muscles of the body from tension.

Drama 3:
We will continue on our Gratowski training. On Thursday we will perform round one of your Shakespeare monologues with the pitch work.

Drama 1:
We will continue our study of improv.

Week of March 14-March 18

Monday: Finish scenes and perform formal self evaluations.
Tuesday: Finish teacher conferences and begin improvisation.
Weds-Fri: Introduction to improvisation.

Drama 2:
Monday-Tuesday: Rehearsal for scenes and begin teacher conference.
Wednesday: Formal final performances.
Thursday: Self evaluations on performance
Friday: Begin monologue unit.

Drama 3:
Monday: Introduction to builds
Tuesday: Build performances
Wednesday-Friday: Gratowski 10 by 10s.

Week of March 7- March 11

Ragtime rehearsal is underway. Don't wait to get your tickets. The performances will be at the Strand theater March 24-March 28

Monday all classes: Vocal is away at festival, so we will be enjoying the film Tootsie.

Drama 3:
Shakespeare memorization deadline - Monday

Tuesday-Thirsday
Gratowski 10 to 10s.

Friday: Performance of 10 to 10s and introduction of self written text scenes.


Drama 2 and Drama 1:
After last week's change of direction toward peer coaching of the Intro students, we need to regroup and continue with the plans of last week.

All this week we will be gearing up, rehearsing, being teacher coached and peer grouped for our final rounds of our scenes which will be on Friday.
