Shouts

First some more college shout outs to AJ and Jaliese who were admitted to CCM in Musical Theater. Also to Nike and Kelley who were admitted to the BFA program at FSU.

Next some shouts to the cast and crew of Aida who did AMAZING work despite a schedule made more intense by snow days. I was so proud of you.

Next let me invite you all to the fun filled week in Drama.

Tonight Drama I scenes in the blackbox 7pm FREE!

Tuesday FNL in the Blackbox 7pm FREE!

Wednesday Drama II and III scenes in the Blackbox at 6:30 and 8:00 pm FREE

Drama II had a great trip to Skyview Elementary on Friday for the culminating performance of our children's theater scenes. We were a hit. They liked it best when the characters fell on the floor and had tantrums. It was fun for D2 to remember how simple theater could be for kids and how much joy a small performance can bring.

Drama IV was pretty busy last week with Aida and college auditions. This week will be spent getting ready for GHP, Unifieds and wrapping up the mask work.

Friends, Romans, Countrymen, lend me your ears.

I hope everyone had a nice three day weekend.

Things are very busy around the Brook. Here is the news;

Drama 2
We are working very hard getting ready for our projects next week and our performance at Skyview this week. Please get your signed permission slip back ASAP so we can go over to Skyview without issue on Friday. Our story theaters are really fun and we hope the K and 1st graders at our feeder elementary school will enjoy our performance.

The D2/ 3 projects are next Wednesday Jan27. Act 1 is at 6:30 and Act 2 is at 8:00. Come for one or both and show your support. This is a free performance.

Drama 4
As always, we are balancing the college audition process with our other curriculum. On Friday we had a great class with the Head of Drama from CCM. This Friday we have a visitor from Emerson.
In the meantime, we are having an absolute blast with our mask performance unit. The students just finished their solo pieces and will be moving into their duet pieces this week.

Here are some other things happening at PA Brook style

Here we go again!

Welcome back from winter break. I hope you enjoyed your snow filled extra three day weekend, I know I did.

Drama 2 and Drama 3 are getting ready for our evening of scenes and monologues. Mark your calendar. This FREE performance is scheduled for Weds. Jan 27. There will be two performances and we are just now ironing out the schedule of who will be where. Check back for announcements and invites to this event.

Drama 4
We have had a great time getting in our masks and bringing them to life. We are currently working on simple movement phrases . I hope to be moving into 2 person scenes by the end of the week.
We also have had several visits from Alumni who have returned to share their college knowledge. It has been really great for the students to have a chance to talk about schools to students who have been through what they have and want what they want.

Aida opens January 22 at the Civic Center. Get your tickets soon. It should be an awesome event. I am greatly looking forward to all that my students and colleagues have cooked up.
