Week of December 5th-10th

It is a busy busy week in the Drama department.

Drama 4 is finishing up their masks and getting ready to start their performances in those masks.

It is a huge week for Drama 2. We did our debut performance of the Fabulous Fable Factory at Mableton Elementary on Friday. We have another performance at Harmony Leland this week and then our public performances will be on Saturday the 10th at 1:30 and 3:00.

Drama 1 is just about finished with their music videos. I hope to post some here when they are done.

  • A disposable stirring device of some kind
  • Thick dish rag
  • Brown paper bags
Drama 2:
We are still plugging away at our Children's show. We are closing in on performance dates. Expect a flyer announcing performance dates in the next few weeks. DO NOT FORGET LINE CHECK ON ENTIRE SHOW THURSDAY!

Week of October 23-October 28

9 Weeks have come and gone

Congrats to those who did well on last week's assessment. To those who did not, you are likely to see a dip in your grade. Please be mindful that these major mid-term assessments are important. It is how we are able to judge your progress and present level of performance. Please be sure that you are preparing for them as much as you possibly can. We felt like more students than usual were quite under prepared and thus did not do as well as they might have otherwise.

This week
All classes will be preparing their fall group compositions for our big Spooktakular event on Friday. This has become one of our favorite traditions in the Brook theater department. Students, I expect to see great things. Remember, this is a performance grade and, if done well, can help many of you bounce back from the fumbles of the 9 week assessments.

WELCOME BACK!!

Welcome back drama students. I am very excited to get back to work with those of you that I have taught before. I am also excited to get to know the class of 2014 a little better and to meet the class of 2015. I hope we will have an awesome year with lots of growth and lots of college acceptances for the class of 2012.

We are extremely excited to have Carolyn Cook joining our acting faculty. She will be working with Drama 2 and 3 on Wednesdays in the capacity of our voice and speech teacher. She is a very well known and gifted local actress with a ton of experience under her belt.

This week we will spend most of our time on ensemble building, but you do have a huge deadline.

WEDNESDAY WE WILL PRESENT RE-JURY MONOLOGUES

In addition, we would love to get your help supplying our classroom with some essentials that are hard to keep up with.
It would be fabulous if you would be willing to bring
  • Kleenex
  • Hand Sanitizer
  • Rolls of Paper Towels
  • Bleach wipes (for sterilizing the mats-we got new mats this summer and we want to keep them clean and germ free.)
